Help us build mastery learning for every student
Bloomy uses AI to teach students exactly what they need to know, when they need to know it. We are looking for a founding engineer in San Francisco to build it with us.

Bloomy is a K-12 learning platform for ELA, Math, and Writing. Students build lasting skills through adaptive lessons, live AI tutoring, and mastery-based practice, with every lesson mapped to Common Core or state-specific frameworks.
Skills follow an "I do, we do, you do" model. Base Camp teaches the concept with a worked example and a check for understanding, Climb adapts difficulty across three levels, and Summit is an independent assessment with no hints and no AI help. Students advance only once they have shown 90% proficiency, so gaps close before they compound.
BloomyBot, our Socratic AI tutor, diagnoses the specific misconception behind a wrong answer and prompts the student through the reasoning step they missed. It guides, questions, and clarifies, always leaving the cognitive load with the student. Principals and curriculum directors are using Bloomy in classrooms and intervention blocks today.
-
Grounded in research
Every design decision draws on learning science: Bloom on mastery learning, Vygotsky on the zone of proximal development, Sweller on cognitive load, Roediger and Karpicke on retrieval practice, Ericsson on deliberate practice.
-
Designed by educators
We build with teachers and school leaders, not just for them. Real classroom use shapes what we ship.
-
Mastery before moving on
We hold a 90% proficiency threshold because every skill is the foundation for the next. We apply the same standard to our own work.
-
Built around real attention
A complete learning cycle takes about 25 minutes, a natural stopping point before attention fades. We design for how students actually learn.
