Hub - Head of GTM
Hub describes itself as a data company that provides real-world training data for physical AI and robotics. This brief combines the company’s JD with the employer clarification relayed by Victor on 2026-09-25.
Responsibilities
As Head of GTM you own Hub's relationships with frontier AI labs and robotics companies, from market insight to signed contract.
- Gather market insights. Tell us what the labs want now, and what they will want in a year.
- Build our list of ICPs and find the champions to target inside each company.
- Create the outreach strategy to reach them, starting with your warm network.
- Close deals, negotiate contracts, and maintain the relationship long after the signature.
- Manage our SDRs and turn their pipeline into revenue.
Candidate profile
5+ years of experience, with a previous role in sales at a big data collection, annotation or labelling company, or in data procurement at a robotics lab is mandatory. You live in SF, have been in the Valley for 5+ years, and go to multiple events a week. We look for outliers with outstanding achievements and grit.
- Native or fully professional English, spoken and written.
- Big contact book. Your warm network across labs and big tech opens doors.
- Understanding of data and models. You can talk to a research lead about what their next model needs.
- Strong at cold outreach when the warm network runs out.
- Negotiation and closing. You've closed complex contracts and can show the numbers.
- Organized CRM operator. Your pipeline is always clean and current.
- AI native. Good with agentic workflows. Agents map the market, research accounts and prep every deal. You research the field daily.
- Big sense of ownership. Your deals, your numbers, your relationships.
- Passionate about technology. You follow the frontier of AI and robotics because you love it, not because the job asks.
- Bonus: you've worked at a company that sold egocentric data.
- Bonus: you're a Hermes Agent user, or run a similar always-on personal agent.
Tools and working stack
Frontier models and agents for market mapping, account research and deal prep.
- A CRM clean enough to forecast from.
- Agentic outreach for cold, your own network for warm.
- Your own agent setup, working the pipeline around the clock.
Example missions (illustrative, not agreed targets or budgets)
We need to close a deal with one of the largest AI companies in the world. Figure out what type of data they're buying and who makes the decision. What's your strategy to reach them?
- We have 50,000 contributors with open capacity. What is the best type of data to create with them for open source, to get the labs' attention?
Compensation and work authorization
Employer clarification relayed by Victor on 2026-09-25; the original JD remains the source for role responsibilities and work location.
- The existing JD states USD 120,000–150,000 annual base plus around 5% uncapped commission; this new reply does not reconfirm that base or finalize the approximate rate. Commission structure and quotas will be discussed with candidates. Hub says commission should be based on revenue collected: this is the intended basis, not a finalized contractual formula. Rate, payment timing, quota and OTE remain to be agreed.
- Head of GTM requires US work authorization for the San Francisco role. Hub prefers this not to be an issue, but may consider sponsoring a visa for the right candidate, case by case; sponsorship is not guaranteed and no visa category or eligibility decision has been supplied.
- Path to become head of sales and manage its own team.
- San Francisco, in person.
- Direct work with the founders. Direct work with top AI labs.
Recruitment process stated in the JD
A short application read by the founders. We open your handles first: your LinkedIn and your track record in sales.
- One conversation, then a task from the real work, like the missions above.
- We watch how you approach the problem, how you break it down, what you measure, and how you verify your own work.
- Final conversation, then answer within 48 hours.
The 48-hour answer is a stated process target, not a separately verified service commitment.
Application evidence requested
Send us a short application, in your own words. We want to hear the thing you've done that you're the most proud of, your professional handles (LinkedIn, links, etc), and the story behind your achievements. Show us your track record in sales: did you hit your quotas, and what's the total revenue you've generated?
