About AlterEgo
AlterEgo (operated by AlterEgo AI Inc.) develops a non-invasive, wearable silent-speech interface that lets users communicate with AI systems and computers by silently articulating words, without vocalizing or touching a device. The technology originated as a research project at the MIT Media Lab in 2018 and spun off as a for-profit company in early 2025, with applications ranging from general-purpose human-AI interaction to restoring communication for people with speech disorders such as ALS and MS.
