Amber Bio is a San Francisco-based biotechnology company pioneering multi-kilobase RNA writing/editing to reach previously undruggable patient populations. Founded by CRISPR researchers from the Broad Institute and UC Berkeley, it is developing a first-of-its-kind RNA writing platform capable of correcting thousands of diverse genetic mutations with a single product. Because edited RNA eventually degrades in the body, the approach is designed to be safer and reversible compared with permanent DNA editing.
