Tuhin Srivastava

Srivastava co-founded Baseten in 2019 after years of experiencing the pain of ML model deployment firsthand. He previously co-founded Shape, an HR analytics platform acquired by Reflektive in 2018. Before that, he was a data scientist/ML engineer at Gumroad, where he met his future co-founders. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California.

Sameer Paranjpye

Joined Baseten in March 2026 to lead the engineering organization. Previously spent 9 years as VP of Engineering at Databricks, joining when Databricks was smaller than Baseten's current size and helping scale it into a category-defining company. Former founder.

Yineng Zhang

A model performance engineer at Baseten who appeared alongside CTO Amir Haghighat on the Latent Space Podcast to discuss DeepSeek-V3, SGLang, multi-region scaling, quantization, and speculative decoding in production. Key technical figure in Baseten's applied performance research.

Amir Haghighat

Haghighat is a deeply technical engineer who was Head of Engineering at Gumroad and later Engineering Manager for the Data Platform at Clover Health before co-founding Baseten. He met Srivastava and Howes at Gumroad in 2012. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from UC Irvine and is the primary public technical voice for Baseten, appearing on podcasts such as Latent Space.

Philip Howes

Howes grew up in Australia with Srivastava and has been his co-founder twice: first at Shape (acquired by Reflektive) and then at Baseten. At Gumroad, he was a machine learning engineer. At Baseten he focuses on multi-cloud capacity management, infrastructure research, and multi-node inference for large models like DeepSeek-R1. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Sydney.

Brian O'Shea

Leads Baseten's sales organization.

Pankaj Gupta

Gupta was a software engineer at Uber and Twitter, with deep expertise in big data infrastructure and large-scale backend services before joining the Baseten founding team. As of mid-2024, Gupta stepped away to co-found a new company called Yupp, though he was still listed as a co-founder through at least early 2026.

Tess Lipsky

Joined Baseten's Forward Deployed Engineering team in December 2025. Previously a Software Engineer at Microsoft on Azure Accelerated Networking (Azure Host Networking team).
