The Role As an AI Research Engineer at Alaris , you'll help design and deploy autonomous agents capable of defending some of the world's most sensitive digital environments. You'll explore cutting-edge techniques in reinforcement learning, language modeling, and reasoning-capable systems, and apply them directly to high-impact cyber security use cases. You'll build agents that can act, reason, and adapt, without needing human intervention at every turn. You'll also play a foundational role in shaping our research roadmap and engineering culture as an early member of the AI team.

What You'll Do Design and build new AI agents to automate key security operations Refine and retrain existing agents to improve precision, recall, and long-term autonomy Build performance evaluation pipelines and metrics frameworks for agent benchmarking Implement advanced reinforcement learning algorithms to drive decision-making and reduce task-specific specialization Track and evaluate emerging AI research with an eye for pragmatic implementation Contribute across the software stack as needed, this is a hybrid research-engineering role

What We're Looking For Proven research experience, academic, open-source, or startup Strong programming skills in Python, PyTorch, and TypeScript Deep understanding of LLMs, transformers, and generative modelling Familiarity with reinforcement learning algorithms (preferred) Startup mindset: resourceful, ownership-driven, and excited to work long hours building something that matters
