About the role
The Mission
Every machine is built and repaired by skilled hands. The world needs more of them. At Darwin, we're building general-purpose robot technicians that assemble and maintain the machines civilization runs on.
We're starting with data centers, where assembly, commissioning, and maintenance demand dexterity, precision, and tool use across a wide range of complex physical tasks.
Our robots learn these tasks from demonstrations rather than being explicitly programmed for each workflow. We're a small team building the intelligence, hardware, and company to bring these robots into the real world.
Our Values
- Technical Excellence: We are a technology-first company. We value deep technical understanding, rigorous engineering, and exceptional execution.
- Truth-Seeking: We follow evidence, question assumptions, and care more about what's true than being right.
- Best Idea Wins: Ideas are judged on their merits, not titles, seniority, or who proposed them.
- Low Ego, High Standards: We welcome criticism, challenge each other directly, and hold ourselves to exceptionally high standards. We treat each other with respect.
- High Agency: We take ownership, move quickly, and do whatever is necessary to make progress even under uncertainty.
What You'll Work On
You'll work directly with the CEO across customer development, strategy, and company operations. Your initial focus will be building our go-to-market engine, developing customer relationships, and turning them into real-world deployments.
- Customer Development & Partnerships: Identify and build relationships with decision-makers at data center operators and hyperscalers. Understand their technical and operational challenges, identify opportunities for robotic automation, and drive deployment discussions forward.
- GTM Systems & Automation: Build and continuously improve our prospecting, outbound, and CRM infrastructure using AI tools, code, and automation. Develop systems for identifying high-value accounts, enriching leads, tracking customer conversations, and executing personalized outreach at scale.
- Strategy & Execution: Work directly with the CEO to evaluate technical and commercial opportunities, navigate new markets, and turn ambiguous problems into concrete outcomes.
- Growth & Communications: Own outbound campaigns, marketing initiatives, company messaging, and external communications. Craft compelling narratives that persuade customers, candidates, and partners.
- Recruiting: Identify, engage, and recruit exceptional engineers, researchers, and operators.
- Company Operations & Special Projects: Own critical projects across supply chain, procurement, manufacturing logistics, finance, legal coordination, and operations. Build supplier relationships, source critical hardware, coordinate deployments, and solve operational bottlenecks as we scale.
What You Bring
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative reasoning abilities, with a strong aptitude for first-principles thinking and solving complex, ambiguous problems.
- Background in mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, or another rigorous quantitative discipline.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly understand sophisticated technologies, reason about engineering and operational tradeoffs, and engage credibly with technical teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Fluency with AI-native tools and workflows. You regularly use tools such as Claude Code and LLM APIs to build software, automate workflows, conduct research, and solve problems. You're comfortable using Python, APIs, and databases to build practical internal systems.
- Exceptional communication and persuasion skills. You can write compelling outreach, earn the attention of senior technical leaders, build relationships, and move complex conversations toward concrete outcomes.
- Relentless resourcefulness and persistence. You're willing to pursue difficult opportunities, conduct targeted outbound, follow up consistently, and find creative ways to make progress under uncertainty.
- Demonstrated ability to independently build, launch, or execute significant projects with limited resources and direction.
- Strong intellectual honesty and low ego. You challenge ideas on their merits, welcome criticism, and readily update your views when presented with better evidence.
- High agency and ownership, with a willingness to take responsibility for whatever moves the company forward.
Nice to Have
- Experience in robotics, artificial intelligence, hardware, data centers, or other technically complex industries.
- Experience in enterprise sales, business development, strategic partnerships, or technical customer development.
- Experience building AI agents, GTM automations, internal tools, or software products.
- Experience in hardware supply chains, procurement, manufacturing operations, or logistics, including supplier sourcing, vendor negotiations, and coordinating complex physical projects.
- Experience founding a company, joining an early-stage startup, or independently building and launching products or initiatives.
- Experience with recruiting, marketing, finance, or startup operations.
