We are looking for a Founding Sales Enablement Lead with 4+ years of enablement experience to build Basis's sales enablement function from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to own the full enablement stack — from onboarding and playbooks to training and tooling — at a Series B AI unicorn that's redefining how accounting gets done.
What will you be doing?
Design and own the onboarding and ramp program for new sales reps, ensuring they get up to speed on a highly technical, fast-evolving product
Build and codify sales playbooks, messaging frameworks, and objection-handling resources that drive repeatable wins across the full sales cycle
Create and maintain training materials, certifications, and a content library that keeps sellers current on product and buyer dynamics
Partner cross-functionally with sales leadership, RevOps, marketing, and product to align enablement with business priorities
Measure and iterate on enablement impact through ramp time, win rates, and rep productivity metrics
Key Requirements
~4 years of hands-on sales enablement experience (titles like Sales Enablement, Revenue Enablement, Sales Training, or Product Enablement)
Experience building an enablement function early at a scaling startup — not as team member #10 of 30, but as a founding or early builder
No pure Big Tech-only backgrounds — must have startup experience; big tech is fine if paired with subsequent early-stage company experience
Based in NYC or willing to relocate; able to work in-person 5 days per week at the Flatiron office — no exceptions
Demonstrated ability to use AI tools and a builder mindset — this is a hands-on, strategy-and-execution role, not a program management seat
We started Basis with the core belief that agents would become an integral part of knowledge work in the near future, and that accounting would be among the first and most important domains where this happened. Accounting is structured, high-stakes, and essential to every business on earth. It's also one of the most underbuilt areas in technology.
Here we are 3 years later, and Basis can now complete a partnership tax workbook end to end. Basis' abilities improve monthly and the rate of improvement itself is increasing. Every day accountants use Basis to create complex journal entries, debug difficult reconciliations, prepare technical accounting memos, and much more. We're deploying real agents to do real work in the real economy.
The world is going to look very different in 2030, and accounting will be at the center of that transformation in ways most people don't yet appreciate. Read more about how we're thinking about the work.
