Veritus Agent is building the first fully AI-native voice agent platform for consumer lending and collections. We’re a YC-backed team with leadership from Best Egg, PayPal, Divvy, and Lending Club—on a mission to modernize legacy call centers with real-time AI agents that drive higher conversions, lower costs, and better borrower outcomes.
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to help scale our AI voice agents as we move from product-market fit into rapid growth. This is a hands-on, client-facing engineering role responsible for translating real-world requirements into production AI agents.
You’ll work closely with customers, sales, and engineering to:
- Translate customer-specific requirements and compliance constraints into robust, testable logic
- Write tools and backend integrations that allow agents to interface with external systems (APIs, CRMs, payment platforms, etc.)
- Tune latency, responsiveness, and voice quality using platforms like OpenAI, ElevenLabs, and Deepgram
- Design A/B tests to optimize business outcomes and regulatory adherence
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- A proven track record of building software in TypeScript or Python
- Experience building and consuming APIs
- Have experience working with AI systems, orchestration frameworks, or LLM evaluation tools
- Excited by in the unique challenges of building low-latency, interruptible real-time voice systems
- Are motivated by delivering measurable impact in regulated, high-trust domains like finance or healthcare
- Enjoy operating close to the customer and iterating quickly based on live data and feedback
