Robot Performance Engineer

Wallingford, CT

About the role

At Dexory, we're developing advanced software powered by cutting-edge robots that are transforming the very face of global logistics. With infectious enthusiasm, our unique blend of disciplines work in harmony to produce results at pace. From hardware and manufacturing to software, AI and commercial, we're one team – one heart – that beats, learns and grows together. We're only interested in the best ideas, no matter where they're from. We're doers. Game-changers. Out-of-the-box thinkers who put merit before all else. A group of ambitious and disciplined individuals who are passionate about turning theory into rubber, metal and results.

Purpose. Be the person who actually fixes the robot, and writes down how. Responsibilities

Take robot issues from L1 and monitoring; triage, diagnose and resolve. Work directly on robots: read logs, inspect ROS topics and services, interact with CAN, check and change configuration, disable sensors where safe, restart services; request a version rollback from V&V when a release is implicated. Investigate connectivity problems, mapping and annotation issues, tower faults, and mission or deployment failures. Know when to stop. Escalate to L3 or Engineering with a clean, evidenced handover - what you saw, what you tried, what you ruled out. Write and maintain a playbook for every repeat issue you resolve, so the next person does not start from scratch. Train and support L1, Deployment and Service so fewer issues need to reach you; keep the knowledge centre and post-release digest current. Feed recurring problems to Fleet Reliability so they are fixed permanently rather than handled repeatedly.

You'll need

A technical degree in engineering, robotics, computer science or similar, or equivalent hands-on experience; robotics exposure welcome but not essential. Linux and command-line confidence; willingness to learn ROS quickly. A structured troubleshooting instinct: form a hypothesis, test it, discard it, move on. Calm under operational pressure - robots fail at inconvenient times and people will be waiting. Clear written communication - the playbook matters as much as the fix.

Benefits Starting from the interview process and continuing into your career with us, you will be working by our four Operating Principles:

Performance: High standards, outstanding results, Impact: Big challenges, bigger results Commitment: All in, every time One team: One mission, shared success

Joining our team and company isn't just about expertise; it's about embracing uncertainty with ambition. We're crafting world-changing solutions, fueled by a passion to redefine what's possible. We will look for you to help create and shape the future of logistics solutions through our products, our culture and our shared vision. You will also receive:

Private healthcare via Bupa with 24/7 medical helpline Life insurance Income protection Pension: 4+% employee with option to opt into salary exchange, 5% employer Employee Assistance Programme - mental wellbeing, financial and legal advice/support 25 holidays per year Full meals onsite in Wallingford Fun team events on and offsite, snacks of all kinds in the office
