Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing & Rapid Prototyping
About the role
Nori Robotics (YC S26) builds affordable humanoids whose intelligence scales with our fleet. We're looking for a hands-on mechanical engineer who can turn ideas into well-designed, manufacturable robot hardware quickly.
What you'll work on
• Design robot parts, mechanisms, enclosures and assemblies in Onshape, SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
• Build and iterate prototypes using 3D printers, laser cutters, vacuum forming, molds and other fabrication processes.
• Design for manufacturing and assembly, balancing appearance, durability, cost and ease of repair.
• Develop fixtures, jigs, drawings and assembly instructions that help our production team build consistently.
• Test parts on real robots and work with electrical and software engineers to resolve integration issues.
Requirements
• Strong CAD skills and hands-on manufacturing experience.
• A track record of quickly taking designs from CAD to physical prototypes, testing them and improving them.
• Practical understanding of materials, tolerances, fasteners and manufacturing processes.
• Some robotics experience and a good eye for proportion, finish and product aesthetics.
• A portfolio showing things you personally designed and built.
