Software Engineer, Infrastructure

We are looking for a Software Engineer, Infrastructure with 4-7 years of experience to own the core systems that make AI agent workloads fast, safe, and reliable at Runloop. You'll be a hands-on IC working directly with a world-class team — including the co-founder of Google Wallet and 100% of its founding team — on a brand new compute paradigm that powers the next generation of AI agents. This is foundational infrastructure work close to the metal, building execution environments, orchestration, isolation, and networking for enterprise customers in highly regulated and defense spaces. We're a small, flat org anticipating a strong Series A with real sales traction, and we need builders who can reason through complex problems and take full ownership.

What will you be doing?

• Driving performance optimization across the platform — faster is always better, and this will be a constant focus area
• Building and scaling secure VPC deployments for enterprise customers in highly regulated industries including defense
• Designing and operating core infrastructure for sandboxed execution environments, containerization, micro VMs, and distributed job orchestration
• Owning reliability, security, and observability of the systems you build — from design through monitoring and incident response
• Working with Kubernetes, Docker (including Docker-in-Docker), Terraform, Pulumi, Grafana, and Prometheus to build infrastructure that scales with rapidly growing demand
