DevOps Engineer This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with a requirement that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

This includes managing the design, development, and product portfolio of our next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake. Responsibilities:Participate in architecture, design, and implementation of build and development infrastructure and methodologiesAssist in management and automation of the build and release process including packaging build artifacts and collateralMaintain and extend our development environments and frameworks, integrating them with Supply Chain / SCM, Defect Tracking, and Continuous Integration toolsContribute to infrastructure automation efforts using cutting-edge tools like Docker and AnsibleDevelop and deliver training to engineering teams for development processes, build methodologies, and toolsProvide daily support to engineers across release engineering tools, systems, and processes such as Git, Jenkins, Artifactory and JIRADesign, deploy, and support Kubernetes-based infrastructure and containerized applications Develop AI-powered automation, agents, and intelligent workflows to improve engineering productivity and operational efficiencyIntegrate engineering tools and services using Model Context Protocol (MCP), APIs, and modern automation frameworksTake a turn in a rotation as front-line support for our tools and services (Admin duty)Investigate, plan and execute regular tooling and services refreshes for out tools and shared infrastructure Perform other duties as assigned What you need to bring:Education and Experience Required:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalentExperience developing and maintaining release builds and packaging3-5 yrs experience developing and maintaining software using industry best practices to ensure quality and traceability. Knowledge and Skills Required:Proficiency in Python is requiredExperience with virtualization technology (VMWare, VME, KVM)Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.Strong experience with LinuxKnowledge and Skills Desired:Experience with source code management tools (preferably Git)Experience with defect tracking tools (preferably JIRA)Experience with continuous integration tools (preferably Jenkins) Experience with Configuration Management tools like Chef, Ansible or SaltExperience with Linux build and packaging concepts, particularly Debian Experience with build tools such as Tup, GNU Make, CMake Hands-on experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-assisted development toolsExperience building AI agents, copilot, and workflow automation solutions, including integrations using Model Context Protocol (MCP), REST APIs, and related technologiesKnowledge of Agile methodologiesExperience integrating Open Source tools and softwareExperience with modern developer productivity tools such as VS Code and GAccessibilityHPE is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including those with disabilities.
