Senior Software Engineer, Core

About the role

About GitGuardianGitGuardian is a global cybersecurity scale-up. The company is based in Paris, New York City, Boston. Our early investors include Scott Chacon, co-founder of GitHub, and Solomon Hykes, co-founder of Docker, alongside leading US and European VC firms. We raised our Series C in early 2026.GitGuardian leads the way in securing the credential layer, helping organizations protect the secrets that let code, machines, and AI agents access systems with broad detection, identity context, and remediation at scale. Already trusted by 600K+ developers worldwide and by 50 of the Fortune 500!About your team and your missionThe Core Squad is responsible for the logical layer that all other GitGuardian teams build on top of. When a customer deploys our platform across thousands of developers, our code is what determines whether everything scales: authentication, permissions, provisioning, notifications, APIs, billing. None of this can break, and everything needs to operate at scale. Our scopeIdentity: SSO/SAML, MFAProvisioning: SCIM, JITRBAC: Teams, roles, and access rightsOpening the platform: Public API, OAuth2, GitHub check runs, notifiers, and ticketing integrations (Slack, Jira, ServiceNow, Splunk, PagerDuty, MS Teams, webhooks)Product trust and observability: Audit and activity logs, data source health checks, in-app analyticsMonetization: Billing and modular plan architectureWhat you will work onComplete the platformization journey. Migrate our existing customers to the platform without disrupting any alerting channels. Concretely: ensure notifier parity, redesign the notification core to reconcile synchronous and asynchronous delivery, build Slack threading and DMs, and enable customizable email templates.Scale GitHub check runs. They block pull requests for most of our customers: GitHub API rate limits, database load spikes, dedicated Celery queues, and handling very large merge requests. Any incident here is immediately visible to customers.Redesign our plan architecture so Product and Sales teams can assemble offers and activate modules without requiring Engineering intervention.Open the platform externally: Build OAuth2, public APIs, and integrations with our customers’ ASPM ecosystems.Evolve a large Django monolith: dependency inversion, typing improvements, progressive decomposition. This is a real architecture challenge, not cosmetic refactoring.Rethink self-service onboarding, where a significant portion of new workspaces currently never reach their first value moment.Build and improve health check systems for our integrations.Your role day-to-dayYou will code every day and own the end-to-end delivery of projects: scoping with the PM and designer, technical design, implementation, deployment, monitoring. You own what you ship, including in production.Beyond your own delivery, you will help raise the engineering bar across

the team: reviewing your peers’ code, mentoring more junior engineers, driving quality standards, and contributing to technical decisions when designs impact our broader platform.

About GitGuardian

GitGuardian provides a platform for detecting and managing sensitive digital credentials and machine identities within software development environments. The company’s solutions scan source code repositories, cloud infrastructure configurations, and other development tools to identify exposed secrets such as API keys, security tokens, and certificates that could be inadvertently committed. Its offerings include internal monitoring tools that help organizations observe secrets within private codebases and public monitoring capabilities to uncover leaks that occur in publicly accessible repositories. GitGuardian also supports governance over non-human identities by maintaining inventories of machine accounts and associated credentials while offering contextual insights and workflows to assist security teams in prioritizing and addressing potential risks. The platform integrates with a variety of developer and security tools to bring visibility into hidden credentials across a technology stack and to support collaborative remediation activities. GitGuardian delivers automated detection paired with incident tracking features that assist in classifying exposures and guiding corrective actions throughout the software development lifecycle. The company’s technology targets security, DevOps, and compliance functions that aim to strengthen credential hygiene and reduce chances of unauthorized access within organizational systems.
