Growth Lead, Marketplace

About the role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Growth Lead, Marketplace based in the United States.

In this leadership role, you will drive the growth of a discovery marketplace designed to connect people with creators, communities, and products that support their personal and professional goals. You will own the demand-generation strategy, increasing traffic, engagement, gross merchandise value (GMV), and transaction volume across multiple channels. Working closely with product, marketing, data, design, and executive leadership teams, you will turn insights into experiments that accelerate marketplace growth. Your focus will span lifecycle marketing, email acquisition, SEO, recommendation systems, and creator success. This is a hands-on, data-driven opportunity to shape an evolving marketplace in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. You will have significant autonomy to test ideas, learn from results, and build scalable growth programs with measurable business impact.

Accountabilities

  • Own the growth strategy for the discovery marketplace, driving traffic, consumer engagement, GMV, and transaction volume through multiple acquisition and conversion channels.
  • Design and execute a continuous experimentation program, including A/B tests across landing experiences, recommendation algorithms, marketplace structure, acquisition strategies, engagement, and retention.
  • Build end-to-end lifecycle email programs from the ground up, including recommendation newsletters, subscriber acquisition offers, and automated campaigns that convert visitors into repeat buyers.
  • Develop and scale organic growth initiatives through SEO and answer engine optimization (AEO), improving product discovery across marketplace pages and distribution partnerships with creators.
  • Improve creator success by connecting listed creators with qualified buyers, analyzing category-level traffic and conversion performance, and applying insights to strengthen marketplace-wide results.
  • Establish comprehensive growth reporting, tracking funnel performance by category, cohort retention among marketplace-sourced members, and revenue generated by individual creators.
  • Analyze performance data, identify opportunities and bottlenecks, and communicate actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Partner with the marketplace general manager, company founders, product teams, paid media, analytics, brand and design, lifecycle marketing, and partnerships to define and execute growth priorities.
  • Take a hands-on, player-coach approach by writing email campaigns, building landing pages, engaging directly with creators, developing reporting, and interpreting results.
  • Rapidly test new approaches, learn from unsuccessful experiments, and use evidence to refine strategy in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.

Requirements

  • A demonstrated track record of owning and growing revenue or GMV across multiple channels, with clear examples of measurable business impact and an ability to explain what worked, what did not, and why.
  • Experience building lifecycle email marketing programs from scratch, with an understanding of meaningful success metrics beyond opens and clicks.
  • Proven ability to acquire email subscribers efficiently and increase their long-term value through relevant content, strong engagement, and effective conversion strategies.
  • A hands-on approach to growth execution, with the ability to create campaigns, build pages, communicate with creators, establish reporting, and analyze performance independently.
  • A strong understanding of marketplace business models and network effects, particularly the strategies required to grow demand, improve conversion, and create value for both buyers and creators.
  • Excellent analytical and experimentation skills, including the ability to design tests, interpret results, make data-informed decisions, and iterate quickly.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities evolve and new technologies or tools may need to be learned quickly.
  • Strong strategic judgment and the ability to balance long-term marketplace growth with short-term acquisition, engagement, and revenue objectives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, equivalent to CEFR C2 or comparable proficiency, particularly for effective asynchronous collaboration across a distributed team.

Benefits

  • Annual cash compensation of US$147,000–US$160,000, paid semi-monthly.
  • Equity compensation, with ongoing equity refresh grants.
  • U.S.-benchmarked compensation and equity, regardless of where you live, subject to the applicable employment arrangement.
  • 35 days of paid time off annually.
  • Fully remote work with flexibility and autonomy over how you organize your work.
  • Two company-wide retreats each year, bringing colleagues together in destinations around the world.
  • A benefits package designed to support health, well-being, and professional growth.
  • The opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and shape the growth strategy of an ambitious, evolving marketplace.
