About the role
We are looking for a Director of Business Operations with 7–12 years of experience to own and scale Indigo's Northern California region end-to-end. This is a true GM seat — you'll inherit a ~$10M ARR market with room to grow to $70M+, manage a team of 10+ (and growing), and own the P&L, strategy, and day-to-day operations for ~40 physician relationships across the region.
What will you be doing?
-
Own the NorCal P&L — drive regional growth, physician satisfaction, and operational efficiency across all clinic sites
-
Manage and grow a team of 10+ (onboarding specialists, on-site day specialists, and hourly staff), with 3–6 additional hires planned in the next six months
-
Visit physician practices and clinic sites weekly — ensure facilities are stocked, operational, and delivering a great experience
-
Build and deepen physician relationships to maintain zero churn and fuel referral-driven growth
-
Partner with product and engineering to identify automation opportunities and implement AI-native workflows without sacrificing quality
Key Requirements
-
P&L ownership experience for a region or business unit — must have directly owned results, not just influenced them
-
Prior management experience — this cannot be a first-time manager role; you'll inherit 10+ direct reports on day one
-
Consulting background (MBB strongly preferred) with a transition into hands-on operating roles at high-growth startups or marketplaces
-
Degree from a top-tier university; bulk of career experience must be US-based
-
Comfortable being boots-on-the-ground — 70% hands-on execution early on, traveling to clinic sites, and doing whatever it takes at a 30-person company
About Indigo
About Us
We are a small team that cares about deep thinking, speed, craftsmanship, and putting customers first. Our mission is to build the best care experience in healthcare, on a 30 year horizon.
We help physicians achieve independence by making it easier to start, operate, and grow their practices. We believe the future of healthcare will be driven by individual physicians, not by large bureaucratic systems. Lowering the barrier to practice ownership lets doctors deliver better care for everyone.
The founding team brings deep expertise across medicine, product, operations, and engineering, including more than 30 years running independent practices across urgent care centers, surgical centers, and beyond. We have built 0-to-1 products at Meta, Dropbox, Instagram, Coda, and Nomad, and scaled companies to over $1B in valuation, $60M+ ARR, and 100M+ MAU.
Highlights
- We have strong product market fit. $10M ARR in under 14 months and enough demand in our pipeline to achieve our 2026 goal of $18MM ARR.
- We are profitable and funded by top tier healthcare investors.
- We are about 30 people today and rapidly growing across the company.
- You will fit in here if you want to own a product, a process, or a function and take it from 1 to 100.
