We believe accessing healthcare should be as simple as doing your taxes on TurboTax.
But for the millions on Medicaid, it’s not.
People lose coverage because of administrative barriers—like missing a notice and incorrect documentation. 60–70% of disenrollments in Medicaid happen for these procedural reasons. These are avoidable errors caused by fragmented systems, not ineligibility.
As an early member of the product operations team at Fortuna, you’ll play a critical role in building a best-in-class consumer product. We work fully in-person 5 days a week out of our NYC office, and believe deeply in the value of a focused, supportive, and tight-knit team.
Your main responsibilities as a product ops associate will include:
You want to move fast and learn faster at a startup. You’ll thrive here if you see startups as the ultimate launchpad for your career and want to get deep in the weeds of building. You’ll get exposure to early‑stage company building, working across Operations and Engineering. You’ll have a unique opportunity to influence what we build and how we build it. Some words we think of when we think of our ideal fit: scrappy, high-grit, reliable, resourceful, open-minded, humble, and empathetic
Product Mindset
Our philosophy is that everyone should be product-oriented. We’re fundamentally building a consumer product for the masses. As such, we’re looking for a teammate who’s motivated by delivering a seamless, user-centered experience. Our users are everything to us - and you have the power to ensure they have an exceptional experience. If you’ve ever gone out of your way to anticipate someone’s needs, or built systems to make life easier for a busy team, you’ll fit right in.
Ownership
You’ll be trusted to fully execute on goals we set for the team. We have so much to build, it’s important that you are excited to own entire pieces of that. To us, high ownership looks like persistence and resourcefulness, combined with deep knowledge of the processes you’re executing on.
High Velocity
The bar is high - we’re looking someone who is energized by a commitment to excellence, thrives in detail-oriented environments, and can juggle simultaneous goals. You bring passion, persistence, and dedication to what you do.
Respectful Disagreement
We believe it's crucial to be able to openly disagree with anyone on the team. We are looking for someone who doesn't shy away from conflict, but is respectful and empathetic in their approach and always open to different ideas.
Humility
It's important to be able to admit when you're wrong. We are looking for a low-ego teammate who is able to take failures in stride and grow from them.
Send us a short email (8-10 sentences), including your resume. Tell us about a time that you owned something that you’re proud of, or about a time you pushed through to make something happen. Feel free to be broad, we’re curious about how you thought and what you did.
