Backend Unit Lead

Limassol, Cyprus

About the role

TradingView is the world’s largest financial analysis platform with more than 100M users across 180+ countries. We build tools that help traders and investors make informed decisions — from advanced charting and market data to collaboration and publishing features. Our products are used daily by millions of individuals and trusted by companies like Revolut, Binance, and CME Group. We’re continuing to grow and scale our platform, and we’re looking for people who care about product quality, take ownership of their work, and want to build systems used by a global audience.

About

the team We are looking for a Unit Lead to take on technical and organizational leadership of the unit and grow it as a single platform rather than three separate teams. This is a "leader of leaders" role, with a focus on strategy, reliability, people, and processes rather than day-to-day coding. Key expectations are a strong engineering background in distributed systems, the ability to balance reliability, tech debt, and product work, and experience growing team leads.

Responsibilities Own the technical strategy and roadmap of the Hub unit, prioritization, and alignment of the three teams as a single platform. Manage

the team leads of UDF, UDF Storage, and DevOps/SRE: development, goal setting, feedback, and growth through grades. Own platform reliability: SLO/SLA, availability and latency, on-call culture, incident reviews, and reducing incident count. Develop the Disaster Recovery / BCP direction: RTO/RPO, dual-hub and recovery scenarios, regular readiness checks. Own capacity planning and scaling, and operations on Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure. Run hiring, performance reviews, grade and

compensation justifications, and engineer development within the unit. Work with stakeholders (product, adjacent clusters) and build cross-team coordination. Improve development and delivery processes: planning, metrics, quality, and

requirements management. What makes you the perfect fit Experience managing engineering teams, ideally managing team leads/managers (several teams simultaneously). Strong backend background and experience with distributed systems. Experience with high-load, low-latency services in production. Understanding of SRE practices: SLO/SLA, observability, incident management, on-call. Confident work with Kubernetes and cloud/container infrastructure. Ability to build hiring, review, and engineer growth processes. Systems thinking, comfort with ambiguity and prioritization. Working-level Russian and English (internal communication and documentation). Will be a plus Experience in finance or trading domain Familiarity with TradingView as a product Hands-on experience with DR planning and capacity profiling. Experience consolidating or reorganizing several teams into a single unit. Familiarity with the technologies in the stack below. What we offer you Flexible working hours and a hybrid work format Well-equipped offices for focused and collaborative work A global, distributed team of 500+ professionals Learning, mentorship, and long-term career growth Relocation support and private health insurance Performance-based bonuses TradingView Premium access Regular team events and company-wide meetups Join the TradingView team and help us build a product used by millions of traders and investors worldwide. We look forward to hearing from you! TradingView is an equal opportunity employer. We embrace diversity and are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our success is driven by 600+ professionals from 40+ countries who speak nearly 20 languages.
