About the role

About Finta

Finta is building the finance platform startups should have had from day one.

Today, startup finance is fragmented. Bookkeeping lives in one place, taxes in another, reporting in spreadsheets, forecasting in someone’s head, and founders are left trying to piece together what is actually happening in the business.

We want Finta to become the go-to solution for the entire finance function: accounting, taxes, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and real-time insights, all in one place.

We raised $2M from Y Combinator, Mercury’s CEO, and leaders at Mercury, Brex, and Ramp. Since launching in 2023, we have grown organically through word of mouth and now serve hundreds of paying customers.

We are a small, high-caliber team with a bias for shipping. There are no layers here. You’ll work directly with Andy, the founder, and get close to customers, product, positioning, and GTM.

This is a founding role where the scope can expand quickly if you earn trust. We work together in person 5 days a week in San Francisco, near the Ferry Building, and expect people to take ownership without needing a lot of structure.

About the role

We’re hiring a Founding Partnerships Lead to build Finta’s partner program from zero.

Every year, accelerators put new batches of freshly incorporated companies through their programs, and almost all of them need accounting and a tax return within months. Many of our customers come out of YC, but we haven’t built formal partnerships with accelerators or platforms yet. That’s your job.

Accelerators are the core channel. Platforms are partners you’ll team up with to work those same accelerator companies together.

  • Accelerators: YC, a16z speedrun, PearX, Neo, South Park Commons, Techstars, and other top programs
  • Platforms: Brex, Ramp, Mercury, Stripe, Rippling, Rho, Slash, and others

This is not a pure partnerships role. At least half of it is outbound: you’ll prospect founders in partner cohorts directly and take them from first touch to close, like an AE.

What you’ll do

  • Build the partner program: the offer, tiering, landing pages, and attribution tracking
  • Run outbound to founders in each partner accelerator, from first touch to close
  • Get Finta into accelerator perk lists, resource pages, and the tools every new batch is handed in week one
  • Partner with platforms on co-marketing, events, and joint outreach to accelerator companies
  • Create a partner kit that an accelerator or platform team can forward without editing
  • Carry a number: a target share of each accelerator’s companies on Finta, plus customers sourced through platform partners
  • Build the playbook for how Finta grows through the startup ecosystem

Must-haves

  • You think clearly and can cut through a messy problem to what matters
  • You communicate clearly and concisely, in writing and out loud
  • You’re a problem solver who figures things out without waiting for instructions
  • You’re AI-pilled and use it every day, but you know when it helps and when it doesn’t

You’ll be a good fit if you

  • Have built a partner program, not just signed partnerships, and know how to get partners to actually send customers
  • Know the startup ecosystem from accelerators, early-stage VC platform teams, or partnerships at a startup-facing fintech
  • Can name the revenue a partnership you built actually produced
  • Are comfortable doing outbound and selling directly to founders
  • Are a strong writer who can make an offer land with partners and founders
  • Can operate without a marketing team or brand recognition behind you
  • Are excited to become deeply credible on startup finance, accounting, and taxes

You should not join Finta if

  • You measure success in logos signed rather than customers produced
  • You dislike outbound
  • You need a large team or a clear playbook to operate
  • You want a role that is mostly strategy and not hands-on execution
  • You are not excited about startups, YC, or founder communities
  • You want to work remotely

Why join

  • Build Finta’s partner channel from zero and own one of our most important GTM motions
  • Work directly with the founder
  • Build relationships across YC, top accelerators, VCs, and the platforms founders use most
  • Help make Finta the go-to finance solution for startups
  • Join a small team with strong organic growth, hundreds of paying customers, and top-tier investors

Compensation and benefits

  • The listed salary is OTE (65/35 base/variable), plus generous equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Meals, gym membership, and professional education benefits
  • Monthly team events and annual company offsite
  • Visa sponsorship and relocation support available

Important

In addition to applying, please email andy at finta dot com with:

  • A partnership you built that produced real revenue
  • How long it took from the first conversation to that partner’s first customer

  1. Intro call (30 min)
  2. Working session
  3. Case study: live partner pitch
  4. References and time with Andy
  5. Offer
