Premium Cash Officer

Malawi

About the role

Our mission We're making Africa the first cashless continent. In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash. We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast. Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent and that's where you come in...How you’ll help us achieve it The Premium Cash Officer plays a crucial role in our liquidity operations by serving our customers and rebalancing our mobile money agents with either cash or e-float. We are looking for someone skilled enough to guide and mentor the Premium Cash Officer (PCO) and dynamic enough to manage any conflict that could occur in the premium outlet. In this role, you'll;

Control access to the safe/cash house, including managing cash in and cash-outs between the safe and the premium agent accounts. Hold the end-of-day bill counting and maintain daily reconciliation of premium agent outlets. Ensure that all cash management transactions are correctly recorded in the treasury system. Promptly request sufficient funds from the head office to ensure no service disruptions and delays at the outlet while serving our customers and agents. Be responsible for the receipt and dispatch of cash through the Cash In Transit (CIT) team. Ensure all cash management policies and guidelines are adhered to. Responsible for the escalation and follow-up of all issues that impede the well-functioning of the premium outlet. Encourage proximity agents to be liquid through frequent tracking, monitoring, and issue resolution. Support agent/customer needs to provide immediate support on Wave's offer information, opening accounts, system, application, and physical cards. Ensure that all cash management transactions are correctly recorded in the treasury system.

About Wave Mobile Money

Wave Mobile Money provides an app-based financial solution to save, transfer, and borrow money. Wave Mobile Money is on a mission to make Africa the first cashless continent. On a continent where less than 10% of the population has a bank account, Wave is building the first modern financial network — no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere! It is building life-changing financial infrastructure. When mobile money succeeded in Kenya, it lifted about a million people out of poverty. And yet, over 10 years later, most Africans still lack access to affordable ways to save, transfer, or borrow the money they need to build businesses or provide for their families. Wave is solving this problem by using technology to build a radically inclusive and extremely affordable financial network.
