Senior Communications & PR Lead (12-month FTC)

Shoreditch, London

About the role

How you’ll fix communication in healthcare as a Senior Communications & PR Lead (12m FTC)

At Accurx, we’ve supported thousands of healthcare organisations to deliver care for over 60 million patients. We’re used by 98% of GP practices and in 68% of NHS Trusts - that’s over 200,000 NHS staff each week.

As the Senior Communications & PR Lead at Accurx (12m FTC), you’ll drive brand awareness and interest through top of funnel content to shape Accurx’s reputation across the care settings we operate in and amongst our key audiences of NHS senior decision-makers and policymakers, with a particular focus on secondary care (acute and community & mental health hospitals).

Reporting into the Head of Marketing, you’ll act as a communications expert within the business, providing advice and guidance to senior leaders and GTM teams about strategies and approaches that will help move us towards achieving our company goals, and executing on these.

This is a full-time 12 month fixed term contract, ideally starting from December 2026.

Your day to day tasks, should you choose to accept this mission…

  • Leading day-to-day PR: Working closely with our PR agency, you’ll draft press materials for key moments, secure media coverage and prepare spokespeople to ensure Accurx is consistently positioned as a thought-leader and news moments are maximised. You’ll manage crisis communications, handling media enquiries and drafting social media statements when needed. You’ll use data to measure PR effectiveness, and iterate on your strategy aligned with company goals.

  • Owning the Accurx Unprescribed podcast: You’ll own the production of the Accurx podcast, working directly with Accurx’s CEO (the host) and our freelance producer and videographer. You’ll source and book guests, create briefs for video content, write thought-leadership, website and social media content, and launch episodes. You’ll ensure podcast content supports company and communications objectives, aligns with brand messaging, and reaches key audiences effectively.

  • Running a thought-leadership & brand content programme: You’ll identify opportunities to create high-quality thought-leadership content, such as LinkedIn newsletter pieces, opinion pieces, reports and content for speaking opportunities, working closely with thought-leaders. You’ll own brand content, including Accurx’s brand narrative and other assets like brand videos.

  • Owning Accurx’s LinkedIn channel: You’ll create and optimise LinkedIn content that resonates highly with target audiences and drives engagement. You’ll educate and empower internal teams - particularly sales and leadership - to engage with and share LinkedIn content, helping to expand reach and influence. You’ll monitor LinkedIn performance and adjust content strategies to maximise visibility, engagement, and impact.

We’d really like to hear from you, if you have…

  • PR & communications expertise: Proven experience in PR and communications working with clients or in-house in the B2B / SaaS / tech space - ideally within a regulated industry but not essential.

  • Agency experience: Background working in a PR agency and / or managing a PR agency, bringing a strong understanding of media relations and campaign execution, an ability to move things forward at pace and set clear expectations.

  • Delivered impactful campaigns: A strong track record of planning and executing communications campaigns that drive measurable impact.

  • Exceptional writing & messaging skills: Confident, adaptable writer able to translate complex or technical topics into clear, compelling content tailored to different audiences and channels.

  • Media relations skills: Proven success in pitching stories, building strong relationships with journalists, and understanding what makes a media story land.

  • Project leadership & stakeholder management: Skilled at managing end-to-end projects across multiple teams, balancing competing priorities, building relationships and delivering under tight deadlines.

  • Senior stakeholder confidence: Comfortable working with an exec team and senior leaders, offering comms guidance.

  • Creativity & tenacity: Creative thinker who’s detail-oriented and persistent - able to find solutions, chase down information, and bring new ideas to life.

  • AI courage & curiosity: A curious, hands-on user of AI who experiments with new tools to work faster and smarter, from research to content creation. You apply it with sound judgement and a critical eye, and you share what works with others.

  • Rebrand & category positioning: Experience shaping and launching a rebrand or new category positioning externally, turning it into a clear, compelling story that lands with media and the market.
