2. GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

 

Aptean is seeking a thorough and methodical QA Engineer to join our global Digital Marketing team. In this role, you will own quality assurance across our portfolio websites, including Logility, vTechnologies, GermanEdge, RS Soft, Paragon Routing, Merlin Business Software and SSG Insight. You will run regression testing after every release and structured test cycles for the RS Soft rebuild. Reporting directly to the Director of Web Delivery, you will make sure changes go live without breaking the sites, traffic or rankings we are working to protect. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys finding problems before users do.

 

 

3. SCOPE

•         QA Experience: You have experience testing websites, ideally WordPress sites.

•         Testing Methods: You know how to write test plans and cases and run structured test cycles.

•         Cross-Browser Skills: You are experienced with cross-browser and device testing, including tools such as BrowserStack.

•         Migration Awareness: You understand what can go wrong in a site migration, including redirects, tracking and SEO.

•         Automation Skills: You have some experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.

•         Attention to Detail: You are methodical and notice small issues others miss.

•         Clear Communicator: You write clear, reproducible bug reports and work well with developers.

•         Organised: You manage testing across several sites and release schedules at once

5. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

·       Regression Testing: Run regression tests across browsers and devices after every WordPress release and update.

·       Migration Testing: Plan and run structured test cycles for the RS Soft rebuild, including redirects, content, forms and tracking.

·       Test Planning: Write and maintain test plans, test cases and checklists for each site.

·       Functional Testing: Test forms, navigation, search, integrations and conversion tracking.

·       Cross-Browser and Device Testing: Check layout, usability and responsiveness across major browsers and devices.

·       Defect Management: Log, prioritise and track defects clearly, and confirm fixes.

·       Accessibility and Performance Checks: Check pages against WCAG accessibility standards and basic performance benchmarks.

·       Automation: Introduce automated testing where it saves time and improves coverage.
