Senior Platform Engineer

What we're looking for

We need someone with 5+ years of experience where platform or infrastructure engineering was their main job, and who has built production infrastructure on AWS with infrastructure-as-code at an early-stage startup, ideally as one of the first platform hires at a Series A–D company. You should be comfortable working with a lot of autonomy and setting your own roadmap. You should also have a track record of building reliable, observable, compliant infrastructure that other engineers actually use, along with experience bringing a cloud bill down to a target number. Bonus points if you have worked in healthcare, fintech or another regulated industry, have worked on LLM infrastructure, or have rolled out an identity provider like Okta.

What you'll do

• Manage and scale the infrastructure that audits clinical notes against millions of criteria every day. This includes compute-heavy processing of unstructured PDFs and AI pipelines that handle billions of tokens daily.
• Take ownership of the platform function as Brellium's first dedicated platform engineer. You'll report directly to the VP of Engineering and define the infrastructure roadmap yourself instead of being handed one.
• Work closely with the Intelligence and Delivery engineering pods to own DevOps across both teams, build demo environments, and improve developer productivity through CI/CD and local and testing environments.
• Define and support infrastructure patterns that improve latency (for example, making audits real-time), reliability and cost as Brellium scales toward 25x its current audit volume.
• Lead security and compliance work from start to finish, including SOC 2 and HIPAA audits, and consolidate SSO, identity, device management and access controls across internal tools.
• Simplify observability and improve key reliability metrics across all services, and manage infrastructure and developer tooling spend to hit cloud cost targets.
