The Standout plugin lets you search open roles at startups on the Standout job board from ChatGPT and other AI assistants, read a role in full, and get a link to be introduced to the company's founders. You can use it without a Standout account. If you choose to connect your Standout account, the assistant can also show you the roles Standout has matched you with and, if you allow it, act for you through Standout.

Without an account, or with read access only, the plugin is read-only. With the permission to act for you, it can only do what you could do by messaging Standout: answer a match, ask for an intro, update what you are looking for, and send Standout messages. It never contacts a company itself, applies anywhere, or changes your account details.

• When you search without an account. The search filters the assistant sends on your behalf: a role keyword, city or remote, visa sponsorship, minimum salary, job type, how recently a role was posted, and the result page; or the id of a role you asked about. ChatGPT also attaches an anonymized user identifier, and every request carries an IP address. We do not receive your conversation, your name or your contact details.
• When you connect your Standout account. You sign in to Standout and approve the connection. We record which assistant you connected, the access you granted, when the connection was created, last used and expires, and a one-way hash of its access token (never the token itself).
• What a connected assistant can read. Your name, email address, job title and location; your job-search preferences (preferred locations, countries you would work in remotely, whether you would relocate, salary and total compensation targets, work mode, start date, how actively you are searching, the company stages you prefer, and the functions, seniority and track you are targeting); and your Standout matches (the role, company, compensation, location and where each one stands).
• What a connected assistant can send, if you allow it. Messages to Standout written for you, your answer to a match, a request for an intro to a role, and changes to your job-search preferences. Standout's replies go back to the assistant.

• To answer your request. Search filters select which public roles to return. Your account data goes only to the assistant you connected, when it looks up your profile or matches for you. What it sends for you is handled exactly as if you had messaged Standout: it joins your conversation history with Standout, and preference changes update your profile.
• To keep the service safe. We use the anonymized identifier and IP address only to limit how many requests can be made, which protects the service from abuse.

We do not use data from the plugin for advertising, and we do not sell it.

• The AI assistant you use. The results of each request go to the assistant's provider (OpenAI, for ChatGPT), which handles them under its own privacy policy.
• Our service providers. The hosting and database providers that run Standout, described in section 5 of our Privacy Policy.
• Not companies. Searching shares nothing with the companies you look at. If you open an introduction link and sign in to Standout, or ask for an intro through a connected assistant, our main Privacy Policy applies from then on, including section 4 on sharing your profile with companies.

• Rate-limit data. The anonymized identifier and IP address are held in memory for at most one hour and are never written to our database.
• Request logs. Like every request to standout.work, plugin requests may appear in our hosting provider's short-lived logs, used for security and debugging.
• Connections. An access token expires after 30 days and the assistant renews it for you. A connection left unused for 180 days, or disconnected, stops working. The connection record is kept while your Standout account exists and is deleted with your account.
• Your account data. Kept as described in section 7 of our Privacy Policy. The plugin does not create any new copy of it. Messages sent through a connected assistant are kept with the rest of your conversation history with Standout.

• Search without an account. Job search works without connecting anything.
• Disconnect at any time. Remove a connected assistant under Connected apps in standout.work/me/settings. It loses access immediately. You can also disconnect Standout from the assistant's own settings.
• Access and delete your data. View and edit your profile at standout.work/me, delete your account from settings, or email [email protected]. Your rights under GDPR and CCPA are set out in sections 8, 12 and 13 of our Privacy Policy.
