About the role
Perspectives Health is building an AI system that fights insurance denials in behavioral health. We work with some of the best addiction-treatment and mental health programs around the country to protect their revenue and keep patients from losing access to life-saving care.
We are growing quickly, approaching profitability, and our backend needs to move from a scrappy early setup into something more mature without adding unnecessary process or complexity. We want someone who can make good infrastructure decisions for our stage.
You would be the fifth member on our team.
What you will own
- Production and staging backend infrastructure
- Deploys, rollbacks, environment management, and release safety
- Database operations, migrations, backups, restores, and performance
- Background jobs, queues, retries, worker health, and failure recovery
- Security: secrets, access control, infrastructure hardening, auditability, and sensitive data handling
- Monitoring, logging, alerts, and incident response
- Runbooks and operational documentation
What we are looking for
- Strong experience operating production backend systems
- Solid fundamentals in Linux, containers, networking, cloud infrastructure, and databases
- Good judgment around security, especially for systems handling sensitive customer data
- Experience with background jobs, queues, schedulers, and long-running workloads
- Fun to work with
Nice to have
- Startup experience, especially during a rapid growth phase
- Experience in healthcare. An interest or background in behavioral health is a huge plus.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability, and incident response
