About the role
What we're looking for?
We need a sharp, early-career person with 0–1.5 years of experience. That could be in an SDR/BDR role, investment banking, consulting, or another demanding first job. You should have excellent writing skills and a strong academic background (for example Berkeley, Georgetown, UMich, UVA, Babson or similar). You should be comfortable running creative, scrappy outbound over email and LinkedIn to C-suite and finance leaders at venture-backed startups, and have a track record of doing hard things well. Bonus points if you have founder or entrepreneurial experience, GTM experience at a fast-growing company (Ramp, Harvey, ElevenLabs, Anti Metal, etc.), heavy extracurricular involvement such as debate or mock trial, or a real interest in building with Claude and vibe coding. Account executives who want to join early and are open to doing SDR work again are also welcome. Excellent January grads will be considered. No tax or accounting background is needed: curiosity and willingness to learn matter most.
What you'll do:
- Own top-of-funnel outbound that involves targeting CFOs, VPs of Finance, CEOs, and founders at seed-to-Series D (sweet spot: seed to Series B) startups through email sequencing and LinkedIn messaging. There is currently no cold calling.
- Take ownership of your pipeline and drive closed revenue. You'll be measured against an annual quota of roughly $1M in added ARR, not meetings booked.
- Work closely with the AE team, the Head of GTM, and our GTM and growth engineers to turn qualified conversations into long-term clients for income tax, bookkeeping, and finance work.
- Write sharp, specific messaging and email plays that cut through the noise with senior finance leaders and founders.
- Lead your own outbound experiments from idea to repeatable play, using hundreds of in-house agents for list building, scraping, and filtering, plus near-unlimited Claude token usage to build your own tools.
- Test and refine sequences and messaging to improve conversion from first touch to closed-won, and help write the playbook as Rivet scales beyond founder-led sales.
