About the role
What we're looking for:
We need someone with 4-7 years of experience as a software engineer who has led projects across large codebases at scaling startups. You should be comfortable working as a generalist across many areas of engineering—from distributed architectures to API design to DevOps—and have a track record of shipping high-quality software at speed. Bonus points if you've self-deployed K8s clusters, built microservices, or contributed to large open source projects.
What you'll do:
- Lead engineering projects end-to-end, defining requirements, setting priorities, and keeping stakeholders informed on key milestones
- Take ownership of critical platform components that automate patient access workflows—benefit verifications, prior authorizations, financial assistance enrollment, and adherence management
- Work closely with the founding team to define priorities, suggest solutions, and excel at implementation across Neon's automation platform
- Design, implement, and document APIs that power healthcare enterprise integrations
- Build and maintain distributed systems with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and scalability
- Leverage AI coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development velocity and embed quality practices across the engineering team
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps infrastructure to support rapid, reliable deployments
