What we're looking for?
We're seeking a current judicial law clerk (federal preferred, state acceptable) completing their clerkship in 2026 who is passionate about public-sector and infrastructure law and ready to transition directly into private practice. You should have exceptional legal writing and analytical skills honed through your clerkship, a demonstrated interest in at least one of the firm's core practice areas (airports, rail/transit, real estate, land use, infrastructure, renewable energy, environmental, or tribal law), and a genuine mission orientation — this is not a BigLaw salary-match role. Bonus points if you have prior internship or externship experience in any of the firm's practice areas before your clerkship.
What you'll do:
- Draft briefs, pleadings, and motions at trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts across the firm's practice areas
- Research and write memoranda to support litigation strategy on complex regulatory and infrastructure matters
- Prepare witnesses for deposition, trial, and administrative hearings — including outlining direct- and cross-examinations
- Manage discovery processes including drafting requests, responses, privilege logs, and addressing evidentiary issues
- Support multiple firm practice groups — airports, rail/transit, real estate, land use, energy, and environmental — on high-stakes regulatory and infrastructure matters
- Contribute to pro bono matters (unlimited approved hours) and firm business development initiatives
- Work closely with partners and associates across practices, owning client work early and delegating intelligently in a collaborative, non-siloed environment
Key requirements:
- JD from an accredited law school with demonstrated academic excellence
- Recently completed or currently completing a judicial clerkship (federal district or appellate preferred; state acceptable)
