About the role

About Standard Bots

Standard Bots is America's largest manufacturer of AI-native industrial robots. Full-stack robots—hardware, software, and AI—all designed and assembled in Glen Cove, New York. The company makes AI-native robots anyone can buy and deploy, with customers ranging from family-owned machine shops to the Fortune 500. Customers include Sunoco, Lockheed Martin, NASA, and the U.S. Army, along with hundreds of manufacturers nationwide. Standard Bots raised a $200 million Series C at a $1 billion valuation from RoboStrategy, General Catalyst, Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, and Samsung Next.

About the role

Fabricators across the country can't hire enough welders, and you know it better than most, because you've run a torch yourself. As our Welding Sales Manager, you'll show shops what cobot welding does for their throughput, quality, and people, and you'll own the national welding number. Welding is one of our fastest-growing applications, and you'll be the person who helps it grow even faster.

📍 Location

This role is remote within the United States, and we prefer candidates in NYC metro, North Carolina, California, Illinois or Texas. Expect to travel frequently to customer sites, regional teams, trade shows, and partners (~50% domestic travel).

What you'll do

  • Own the welding number. You carry the national quota for welding systems and revenue across direct and partner sales. You build and manage the welding pipeline and forecast with each region, and you measure success by installed, producing systems, not just bookings.

  • Partner with Regional Sales Managers. You co-sell welding opportunities with RSMs in every territory, from discovery through close. That means welding-specific discovery, part and joint reviews, and ROI conversations with fabricators. You'll join customer site visits, demos, and weld trials alongside our Welding Applications Engineers, and you'll raise the welding knowledge of the broader sales team through training, deal reviews, and ride-alongs.

  • Sell direct MIG welding systems. You help shops evaluate cobot MIG welding against their part mix, volumes, and labor constraints, and you lead the proposals, pricing, and negotiation on welding deals.

  • Build the partner channel. You recruit and manage gas and welding distributors as a lead source for Standard Bots welding. You also support partner-built solutions, such as laser welding cells, from the first conversation to repeatable sales.

  • Be the voice of the welding customer. You bring field feedback on ease of use, features, and competitive gaps to the welding product team, and you represent Standard Bots at welding and fabrication trade shows and industry events.

What you'll bring

  • Hands-on welding experience. You've laid beads and you know what a good weld looks like. MIG is required; TIG or laser is a plus.

  • 5+ years in welding sales or welding applications, ideally robotic or automated welding.

  • A track record of closing capital equipment deals with manufacturers and fabricators.

  • Comfort working as an individual contributor who leads through influence across regional sales teams.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites, trade shows, and partner meetings.

Nice to have

  • Experience with a welding OEM, welding distributor, or robotic welding integrator.

  • Existing relationships with gas and welding distributors.

  • AWS certification (CW, CWI, or similar).

  • Experience building or managing a channel partner program.

Compensation and Benefits

The on target earnings (OTE) range for this role is $190,000 - $225,000, depending on experience. Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots. All Full-Time Employees are eligible for Employee Stock Options. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.

About Standard Bots

Standard Bots develops industrial robotics systems that combine robotic hardware with AI-driven software to automate manufacturing and operational tasks. Its product portfolio includes collaborative robotic arms with different payload capacities, as well as software platforms that support robot programming, fleet management, and application development. The company’s technology enables users to teach robots through demonstration rather than relying solely on traditional coding methods, allowing robots to perform tasks such as machine tending, inspection, palletizing, welding, and material handling. Standard Bots also provides AI capabilities that allow robots to learn from observed actions, adapt to changes in their environment, and improve task execution over time. In addition to its robotic systems, the company offers operating software, development tools, and integration capabilities designed to support deployment across a range of industrial workflows.
