We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Lead with 3-5 years of experience to own full-cycle recruiting at Venn, Canada's only digital banking platform. You'll be the sole recruiter responsible for doubling the team from 30 to 60, with a heavy focus on sourcing and closing technical talent in a competitive Toronto market.
What will you be doing?
Owning end-to-end recruiting across ~15 open roles, with 6 high-priority reqs requiring heavy outbound sourcing
Sourcing and closing technical talent (back-end engineers, product, design) — approximately 60-70% of your time
Running 6-10 screening calls per day and managing inbound pipeline review across all roles
Partnering directly with founders and hiring managers to define roles, coordinate interviews, and close candidates
Building the recruiting function from scratch — setting up processes, experimenting with AI tools, and pitching Venn's in-person culture
Key Requirements
2-3 years in a recruiting agency plus 1-2 years in-house at an early-stage tech company
Proven experience hiring software engineers and technical talent
Comfortable operating independently as a sole recruiter with minimal oversight
Must be based in Toronto and able to work on-site 5 days a week (Adelaide & Spadina)
AI-native and tech-forward — uses tools to source smarter and manage high volume efficiently
