Role Overview: F5 Solutions Engineer (SE) is a sales and technical role with focus on customer/partners and is part of the sales organization. The SE’s primary responsibility is to support the sales team with technical skills and provide technical knowledge around F5 solutions to our customers. From their perspective, our SE is a trusted adviser who proactively learns and understands their technical and business challenges and is able to propose effective solutions to mitigate their concerns/offer gainful solutions. benefits in the Technical Value Proposition. To be effective, our SE needs to have excellent technical skills and knowledge on both F5 products and the “eco-system” that we work in. What You’ll Do: Develop and implement technical strategies that support the overall sales objectives of the organization. Act as a thought leader in the industry, representing the company at conferences, webinars, and industry events. Lead the design of highly complex, integrated solutions that address the unique challenges of strategic clients. Mentor other solutions engineers, providing guidance on complex technical and strategic issues. Engage with strategic clients at the executive level to understand their long-term goals and align solutions accordingly. What You’ll Bring: Considered an internal subject matter expert within the function. Consistently acts as a resource for other functions such as sales engineering, sales management, and inside sales. Requires conceptual thinking to understand advanced issues and implications. Ability to select and improve processes to sell across F5’s product portfolio. Expert level understanding of Web Protocols and application architectures (HTTP/TLS/SSL), programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Golang, etc.), and Kubernetes concepts and architectures. Deep understanding of PKI concepts, Certificate Authority, OCSP, Certificate Providers. Advanced knowledge of Data Center, Virtualization, Cloud computing environments, Solution Performance, and Sizing. Expert in Solution designs for large-scale environments and Vertical Market solutions.
