About the role
We are looking for a Senior Satellite Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience in new space satellite design to own the overall architecture and manufacturing approach for our Meridian broadband constellation. You must have hands-on experience building and deploying satellites at scale — ideally on programs like Starlink, OneWeb, Planet, or similar constellations where cost-effective, high-volume manufacturing was critical. This is a rare opportunity to join a ~20-person team as a technical lead, shaping the satellite design from the ground up and eventually growing into a leadership role as the team scales. We need someone who is the real deal — a brilliant engineer who knows how to take a satellite from design through production and can make smart decisions about where to take risk and where to pull back.
What will you be doing?

Owning and finalizing the full satellite design for the Meridian constellation — reviewing every aspect, identifying gaps, and driving solutions across all subsystems

Leading trade studies on architecture, vendor selection, cost optimization, and risk mitigation to determine the best path to production

Defining manufacturing and testing strategies — determining batch testing approaches, qualification standards, quality requirements, and what level of risk is appropriate for a new space program

Adapting satellite designs around SpinLaunch's proprietary payload and antenna technology to meet varying customer constraints and mission requirements

Providing technical direction to the engineering team, vendors, and subcontractors to kick off and manage program execution
