We are looking for a Software Engineer with 2+ years of experience to join a small, elite team building AI systems that autonomously conduct AI research. You'll be working at the frontier of automated scientific discovery at a company that has already shipped the first AI agent to autonomously create peer-reviewed literature. This is a rare opportunity to join an 8-person team backed by $14M in seed funding from General Catalyst, Toyota Ventures, and others, with strong enterprise traction among top-tier quant trading firms. You must be a strong Python engineer who can write pristine production code and thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
What will you be doing?
Building and maintaining backend infrastructure for Mira, the company's commercial AI research agent platform
Writing high-quality production Python code to improve recursive self-improvement capabilities and system performance
Collaborating cross-functionally with researchers and engineers on agentic discovery search systems and post-training stacks
Contributing to ML infrastructure, observability, and performance optimization of customer-integrated AI systems
Operating as a generalist engineer at an early-stage startup — owning problems end-to-end from design through deployment
We build AI systems that autonomously conduct AI research. We just announced the first AI agent to autonomously create peer reviewed literature (ICLR 2025 Workshops).
We recently raised $14M from General Catalyst, Perplexity Fund, S32, MaC Ventures and Toyota Ventures.
