We are looking for a Software Engineer with 0–4 years of experience to join a founding team rebuilding a Rust-based HFT trading system from the ground up. This is a high-ownership, high-agency role for someone who is genuinely excited about market microstructure and wants to see their code move real money in production from day one.
What will you be doing?
- Rebuild and own the core trading platform in Rust — including OMS, execution, and market data infrastructure
- Build out data pipelines and backtesting infrastructure (Python/Rust) to support research and alpha validation
- Deploy the system to production and take ownership of observability, monitoring, and on-call reliability
- Connect and maintain integrations with multiple crypto exchanges
- Collaborate directly with the founder and a senior HFT advisor — no PMs, no committees
Key Requirements
- Production Rust experience — must have shipped concurrent, high-throughput or low-latency systems in a live environment
- Familiarity with quant/trading concepts (order books, adverse selection, market making) — must be able to demonstrate this without being coached
- Startup experience at a small team (<50 people) where you owned infra, backend, and deployment yourself
- Experience at a trading firm or HFT shop (even as an intern) is a strong plus — tradfi preferred over crypto
- High agency and async-first mindset — comfortable owning a live system end-to-end with minimal direction
