About the role
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join Vital Lyfe as a high-ownership technical leader on a lean, fast-moving hardware team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who thrives in ambiguity — someone who can take an undefined problem, architect a solution, and execute it fast. You'll be one of the most senior engineers on a young, talented team of ~7 mechanical engineers, helping level everyone up while personally owning critical subsystems. If you've shipped hardware at a high-performance company, love solving problems no one has solved before, and want your work to matter — this is the role.
What will you be doing?

Own the sizing, design, and dynamic analysis of pump and check valve systems — from concept through production launch.

Run structural analysis on pressure vessels, develop margin recommendations, and apply new materials to novel engineering challenges.

Perform thermal analysis across the full system and trade high-level concepts to maximize performance and reliability over time.

Drive system-level tradeoffs across performance, manufacturability, and cost — making fast decisions with incomplete information.

Mentor junior engineers and help expand the team's technical capability, without stepping away from hands-on design and execution.
