Why Castelion, Why Now Castelion is moving incredibly fast to develop and deliver advanced defense systems at a time when execution matters more than ever. We believe focus and technical excellence are decisive advantages - and we are building a team that can deliver real capability, not just concepts. This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage, where your work will directly shape critical systems, influence major technical decisions, and have immediate, real-world impact. Senior Control Electronics Engineer We are seeking a Senior Control Electronics Engineer to design and deliver real-time electronic control systems for Castelion's long-range hypersonic strike vehicles. This role is critical to enabling precise actuation and vehicle control through robust, high-performance electronics. You will work hands-on with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, build, test, and validate control electronics hardware, with a focus on thrust vector control (TVC) systems and attitude control system (ACS) drivers in a fast-paced, hardware-driven environment.
Responsibilities Design and develop real-time control electronics for flight-critical systems, including TVC controllers and attitude control system (ACS) driver electronics Lead the architecture and implementation of actuator control systems, including motor drivers, valve drivers, and associated feedback/control loops Develop high-reliability analog and mixed-signal circuits for precision control, sensing, and actuation Work closely with GNC, avionics, and flight software teams to ensure seamless integration of control electronics with vehicle systems Perform circuit-level and system-level modeling and analysis to validate performance, stability, and robustness under dynamic flight conditions Support hardware bring-up, integration, and test campaigns, including debugging, root cause analysis, and performance tuning Define and execute qualification and flight test plans, translating results into system-level improvements Ensure designs meet
requirements for thermal performance, EMI/EMC, and operation in extreme environments Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in control electronics design Partner closely with program leadership to make technical trades aligned with mission success Basic
Qualifications Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field 5+ years of experience designing and validating control electronics for aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability systems Strong background in real-time control systems, actuator electronics, and feedback control implementation in hardware Experience designing motor drivers, valve drivers, or similar high-performance actuator control electronics Proficiency in analog and mixed-signal circuit design, simulation, and analysis (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent) Experience with hardware bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting in a lab or flight hardware environment Familiarity with EMI/EMC design practices, ruggedized electronics, and operation in high-vibration/high-temperature environments Strong problem-solving mindset, thriving in a fast-paced, hardware-rich, high flight cadence environment Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or
