About the role We're hiring a Process Engineer to join Vehicle Operations with a cross-program mandate covering Test, Fleet Reliability, Build, and On Road Deployment across our Automotive, Trucking, and Construction & Mining programs. Operations across our programs has scaled faster than the methodology behind it, and we need someone whose full-time job is closing that gap. You'll spend time in the ops flow, measure where time and cost actually sit, and identify the highest-leverage improvements. Some of that work is analysis and methodology design; some of it is driving change end-to-end, from design through full rollout. Our fleet is scaling past 100+ vehicles across three distinct business areas, and the same operational problems keep showing up in different programs. You'll recognize those patterns, design the methodology to solve them once rather than every time, and build the measurement infrastructure that tells us whether what we're doing is actually working. At Applied Intuition, you will do: Workflow and throughput analysis : time-and-motion studies and bottleneck identification across vehicle prep, dispatch, rework, retrofit, and deployment loops. Root cause analysis : design and apply structured RCA frameworks for recurring failures, and surface cross-program patterns where the same root cause is driving issues in multiple verticals. Measurement framework design : define how operational performance is instrumented and build the dashboards and signals that show whether changes are actually working. Process templates and standards : develop SOP structures, runbook formats, checklist templates, and training assessment models that scale across verticals. Cross-vertical pattern recognition : identify where the same problem appears in Test, Build, Fleet Reliability, and On Road Deployment so we design the solution once instead of three or four times. Continuous improvement : bring Lean / Six Sigma rigor to operational problems and embed it into how the organization runs. How you'll operate Your work follows a consistent cycle: Observe and measure: spend time in the ops flow, shadow operators, pull data, and understand where time and effort are actually going. Analyze : find the real bottlenecks, patterns, and gaps; prioritize by leverage. Design : produce structured findings, methodology, and a clear implementation path with prioritization and rationale. Implement : drive the change into operations, whether that's rolling out a new framework, retraining a workflow, or restructuring a process end-to-end. Re-measure : validate whether the change is moving the metrics, and feed the learning back into the next cycle. The output compounds. Each cycle adds to the analytical baseline, methodology library, and measurement infrastructure that lets operations scale efficiently. We're looking for someone who has: BS in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 5+ years in process engineering, industrial engineering, operations engineering, or a comparable operational analyst role. Demonstrated application of Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement methodologies in a production or operational environment. Track record of running time-and-motion studies, bottleneck analyses, and root cause investigations that led to measurable change. Strong data fluency, comfortable pulling, structuring, and interpreting operational data (spreadsheets required; SQL or BI tools a plus). Experience designing measurement frameworks and KPIs for operational teams. Ability to influence without authority — your output gets adopted across teams that don't report to you. Excellent written communication. The deliverable is a clear, structured finding that's ready to act on, not a deck. Nice to have: Background in automotive, robotics, autonomous vehicles, manufacturing, aerospace, or another complex hardware + software operations environment. Experience scaling operations from pilot through commercial deployment. Familiarity with fleet operations, vehicle servicing and uptime, or test and deployment cycles. ISO 9001 / QMS exposure. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification. MS in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
