About
the Role As Director, SE Enablement, you will report directly to the VP of Solutions Engineering and serve as Verkada's enablement czar across both internal and external audiences. This role owns the full technical enablement ecosystem: how Verkada's Solutions Engineers ramp and stay sharp, how partners get certified and activated, and how customers develop the technical confidence to get the most out of Verkada's platform. You will architect and lead the programs that define what "good" looks like at every layer of the technical community, including the Verkada Certified Engineer (VCE) track, the Verkada Certified Design Engineer (VCDE) track, and Verkada's global demo program. This is a builder role. You'll write content, design labs, run pilots, and stand up infrastructure, while simultaneously hiring
the team and laying the foundation for a program that will scale globally and touch tens of thousands of learners. If you love to build, obsess over learner experience, and want to own something that shapes how an entire industry thinks about physical security expertise, this is your seat.
What You'll Do Design, launch, and continuously evolve Verkada's global technical enablement strategy across internal SEs, channel partners, and end customers. Own and scale the Verkada Certified Engineer (VCE) and Verkada Certified Design Engineer (VCDE) programs, including curriculum design, exam development, hands-on lab architecture, and certification lifecycle management. Own the Verkada demo program end to end, including demo environment standards, tooling, content, and readiness across the SE and partner org. Build and lead a team of highly technical content creators, instructors, and program managers, setting the bar for content quality, technical depth, and learner engagement. Serve as the internal enablement lead for the SE org, ensuring new hire ramp programs, ongoing training, and product update enablement keep the field sharp and ready to win. Serve as the external enablement lead for the partner ecosystem, developing tiered certification tracks and training programs that drive partner activation, deal participation, and technical credibility. Champion in-person, lab-based, and hardware-integrated training experiences, delivering high-impact sessions at Verkada's San Mateo HQ and in the field. Create a wide range of enablement assets, including multi-track certification exams, hands-on labs and simulations, short-form on-demand modules, learning guides, whitepapers, and instructor-led training content. Define and track success metrics across adoption, field performance, knowledge retention, certification attainment, and demo program health. Work cross-functionally with Product, Channel, Marketing, and GTM leadership to ensure content stays current, accurate, and aligned to product updates and business priorities. Spend time in the field (roughly 25 to 30% travel) supporting training events, gathering learner feedback, and evolving programs based on real-world usage. What You Bring 8+ years in technical training, certification, or enablement leadership in fast-paced, high-growth tech environments. Proven track record building and scaling technical certification programs that serve internal teams, channel partners, and customers simultaneously. Experience owning or significantly contributing to demo programs, including environment standards, tooling strategy, and readiness frameworks. Strong technical background in networking, IoT, physical security, or enterprise infrastructure. Deeply hands-on: comfortable writing content, building labs, designing assessments, and reviewing technical documentation. Experience leading teams of content developers, instructors, or technical educators, with a track record of scaling globally. Excellent cross-functional collaborator who thrives working alongside SEs, product managers, engineers, and GTM teams. Strong program management skills with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams and deliver with speed and clarity. Passion for in-person learning, hardware-driven labs, and building programs that people genuinely want to participate in.
Bonus: Physical security industry experience. Startup or high-growth company experience US Employee
