We are looking for a Real Estate Attorney with 7–10+ years of transactional experience to step into a senior role leading sophisticated joint venture, acquisition, development, and financing deals at a respected mid-size California firm. This is ideal for someone doing high-level work at a big firm who's ready for greater autonomy, direct client access, and a real path to building their own practice — all at 1,600 billable hours instead of 2,000+.
What will you be doing?
Leading drafting and negotiation of complex joint venture and operating agreements for real estate entities
Running acquisitions, development transactions, and financing deals end-to-end with direct client and counterparty engagement
Taking full ownership of transactions — not just discrete pieces — with minimal supervision
Working closely with partners on anticipated JV deal flow growth over the next 6–12 months
Meeting individually with partners to develop and align business development plans as part of a real partnership track
Key Requirements
7–10+ years of substantive transactional real estate experience at an AmLaw 200 firm or well-regarded California RE boutique
Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating joint venture and operating agreements
Active California State Bar license (non-negotiable)
Meaningful deal ownership and direct client contact — not just supporting senior attorneys on discrete workstreams
Excellent academic credentials (J.D. from accredited law school; transcript will be requested)
Salary
$275,000 - $350,000
Location
