Solutions Engineer

Cairo, Cairo Governorate

About the role

Lean is expanding our footprint by opening an office in Egypt this summer and the Solutions Engineer role is one of our first hires in market. We’re a Series B fintech (General Catalyst and Sequoia backed), and over the last few years we have grown from a category-defining open banking company into a multi-rail infrastructure layer powering payments, data, and lending across MENA. Cairo is a long-term bet on a market we believe in, and the people who join now will shape what Lean looks like there for years to come. You will be working alongside a very diverse team of 30+ nationalities, with backgrounds from some of the best fintechs in the region and globally. The work is hard, the standards are high, and the ownership is real. If you are a builder who wants to set the standard, this is the right moment to join. About Lean Lean is the leading financial infrastructure provider in the Middle East. We power some of the region’s largest companies with APIs that enable payments, account verification, financial data access, and other critical financial infrastructure. What started as the region’s pioneering Open Banking platform and quickly became the de facto leader in account aggregation and payment initiation in the region is now becoming something bigger: a multi-product infrastructure company powering payments, data, and lending across MENA. We’ve processed billions of dollars in transactions. We’re trusted by 350+ clients - from Binance and Careem to Etisalat - and backed by General Catalyst, Sequoia, and Shorooq. Our $67.5M Series B was just the beginning. We’re expanding into new markets, opening offices, acquiring businesses, and building capabilities that didn’t exist here before. About the job As a Solutions Engineer at Lean, you’ll help the Solutions Engineering team scale implementation throughput and activations across repeatable client work in KSA and UAE. the team faster without lowering quality. Working closely with clients and cross-functional teams, you’ll help keep activations on track while contributing to playbooks, workflow improvements, and scalable execution standards. This is a client-facing role for technically strong, detail-oriented problem-solvers who enjoy combining implementation work with operational Excellence, adaptable problem-solvers who enjoy turning customer needs into practical solutions. What you’ll do Build strong working knowledge of Lean’s products, APIs, and common integration patterns, and apply that knowledge to support client implementations. Troubleshoot integration and API issues independently in standard cases, and escalate effectively when problems are ambiguous or high risk. Support high-quality implementations by following established best practices, preparing clients well, and helping drive reliable launches. Understand client goals, constraints, and use cases, ask thoughtful questions, and tailor technical guidance to their context. Understand how technical work connects to client value, adoption, and commercial outcomes, and support opportunities that improve usage. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, simplify technical concepts, and keep them informed throughout implementation. Take ownership of assigned workstreams, follow through reliably, and contribute to successful client launches and adoption. Keep Salesforce, Slack, Notion, and other internal tools up to date with progress, decisions, and next steps for assigned work. Manage workload effectively, follow implementation plans, meet deadlines, and help keep launches on track. Work effectively with Sales, Product, Engineering, CSM, and Support to resolve dependencies and move client work forward. Share useful learnings, contribute to internal documentation, and support teammates when helpful. Improve implementation throughput and execution quality by strengthening trackers, checklists, workflows, handoffs, and operational discipline across implementations. Use automation and scalable workflows to reduce manual effort, improve visibility, and help

the team move faster across repeatable implementation and activation work. What you’ll bring 3+ years in Solutions Engineering, Pre-sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, Implementation, or a similar client-facing technical role, ideally in SaaS or API-first environments. Comfortable working with REST APIs, reading technical documentation, debugging integration issues, and guiding clients through implementation. Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is required. Highly accountable, organized, and proactive; able to manage multiple workstreams, communicate clearly, and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment. Familiarity with payments, fintech, or bank integrations is a plus. NB. While we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to

the role. If you identify with

the team and mission, but not all of our

requirements, then please still apply!!
