About the role
We are looking for a Founding Member of Technical Staff with 2–5 years of experience to join Eagle at the ground floor and help build an AI-powered operating system for the engineering industry. You'll be a high-agency, full-stack engineer with strong product instincts who thrives on ambiguity — someone who can sit with real users, form a clear opinion on what to build, and then go build it. This is a rare zero-to-one opportunity backed by Lightspeed, acquiring cash-flowing engineering firms and transforming them with AI.
What will you be doing?
- Embed directly with staff at acquired engineering firms to identify pain points, then return and ship solutions end-to-end
- Own problems from discovery through deployment — no specs handed to you, just a problem space and users to talk to
- Build core platform layers including data connectors, document intelligence pipelines, and structured knowledge stores
- Collaborate directly with the founders on product strategy, engineering culture, and what to build next
- Travel on-site to acquired firms (Mon–Thu, ~2–3 weeks/month for the first 100 days post-acquisition)
Key Requirements
- Full-stack engineering experience — must be comfortable across the stack, not specialized in just front-end or back-end
- Strong product thinking — ability to distill noisy, conflicting user feedback into a clear, opinionated build decision
- Genuine excitement about applying AI (LLMs, RAG, agent frameworks) — hands-on experience is a plus but curiosity and forward-leaning interest is a must
- Strong communication skills — able to earn trust with non-technical users and explain ideas clearly
- Based in or willing to relocate to New York City; role is fully on-site 5 days/week
