About the role
We are looking for a Applied AI Engineer with 4-8 years of experience shipping production AI systems to lead the development of our core AI platform from the ground up. You are not a researcher, but a builder who gets excited about making AI reliable and useful for real-world applications. You will be the first dedicated AI platform engineer, owning the architecture that will power every intelligent feature at BuildOps and help us become an AI-first company.
What will you be doing?
- Own and build the core AI platform architecture from scratch, including retrieval, orchestration, tool-calling, and the knowledge layer.
- Develop robust evaluation infrastructure and debugging tools to ensure every change is measurable and failures are traceable.
- Improve the success rate and reliability of agentic AI features, starting with the core chat experience.
- Set the standard for production-ready AI at BuildOps, enabling other engineering teams to build intelligent features on top of your platform.
- Translate business logic into a semantic layer that the AI can reliably use to take action on behalf of our customers.
