We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience to own and evolve our highest revenue-producing product — Revenue Recapture. This is an automated tool that helps restaurants recover funds lost to third-party delivery platform errors, unwarranted refunds, and chargebacks. You'll be joining a world-class engineering team building infrastructure for better, faster, cheaper food — working alongside one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our generation. The engineering bar is exceptionally high, and you'll be solving complex, impactful problems at scale across a portfolio of businesses serving hundreds of thousands of restaurants globally. If you thrive on hard problems with massive real-world impact, this is the role for you.
What will you be doing?
Own the Revenue Recapture product end-to-end — designing and building automation to improve dispute effectiveness and drive toward a fully "no humans in the loop" process from data ingestion and decisioning to filing, tracking, and resolution.
Develop scalable, reliable backend services primarily in Java and build intuitive front-end experiences that surface dispute status, outcomes, and insights.
Increase automation and win rates through experimentation, defining and tracking success metrics tied to real results (dollars recovered, issues prevented).
Ensure reliability and quality via sound architecture, automated testing, observability, and a focus on high service uptime and resilience.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data, Operations, and Support to incorporate customer feedback and turn insights into engineering improvements.
Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress. Founded by Travis Kalanick after leaving Uber, Atoms represents the consolidation of eight years of technology development across multiple divisions — bringing Physical AI to the industries that move civilization forward.
The company operates across three core verticals:
Atoms takes a modular, OEM-agnostic approach — integrating autonomous robotic technology into existing vehicles and equipment (Hitachi, Komatsu, Toyota, Hyundai) rather than replacing them. Both the food and mining divisions are live production ecosystems with real customers, not experimental or simulated environments.
The culture at Atoms is engineering-first. Engineers and engineering leaders make the primary decisions that impact the company — not operations or finance. This means regardless of level, engineers have outsized impact compared to traditional large tech companies. The work is ambitious, often challenging, and grounded in a shared sense of purpose to bring automation into the physical world.
