Job Family: Capital Projects & Infrastructure Consulting, Management Consulting Travel Required: Up to 50% Clearance Required: None What You Will Do: Guidehouse’s Communities, Energy & Infrastructure team is seeking experienced professionals with infrastructure delivery backgrounds – particularly those who have led or managed complex energy infrastructure project development and execution efforts. Candidates should have experience working in infrastructure-intensive industries such as advanced nuclear, power generation, utilities, data centers, and other large-scale capital project environments. As an Associate Director, you will: Lead Owner’s Representative, Owner’s Manager, and Owner’s Integrator engagements supporting the development and delivery of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects across planning, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness phases. Advise utilities, energy developers, investors, data center developers, and infrastructure owners on project development strategies, governance frameworks, delivery models, project controls, risk management, and organizational readiness. Support energy infrastructure development activities including site selection, permitting, licensing, regulatory strategy, stakeholder engagement, environmental review, interconnection planning, commercial development, and investment decision support. Manage complex project teams and workstreams, ensuring high-quality deliverables, effective stakeholder coordination, on-time execution, and successful client outcomes. Provide oversight of project delivery performance, including schedule, cost, risk, contract management, change control, and executive reporting processes. Facilitate alignment across project stakeholders, including owners, investors, lenders, EPC contractors, engineering firms, utilities, regulators, permitting agencies, community organizations, and other strategic partners. Develop client-ready insights and recommendations through project assessments, scenario analysis, delivery risk evaluations, governance reviews, and infrastructure development planning. Support business development efforts by leading proposal development, cultivating executive-level client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding Guidehouse’s Energy Infrastructure Development and Owner’s Integrator service offerings. Collaborate across Guidehouse practice areas to deliver integrated solutions spanning infrastructure strategy, project delivery, technology, regulatory affairs, cybersecurity, operations, and organizational transformation. Coach and mentor project teams, fostering leadership development, technical excellence, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement. What You Will Need: Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident due to the nature of client engagements. Bachelor’s degree and Seven (7+) plus years of post-graduation experience in energy infrastructure project development, project delivery, management consulting, engineering, construction management, program management, or a related field; OR Master’s degree and Five (5+) plus years of post-graduation experience in energy infrastructure project development, project delivery, management consulting, engineering, construction management, program management, or a related field. Experience supporting the development, delivery, or oversight of large-scale capital projects within the energy, utility, industrial, critical infrastructure, technology, or public sector markets. Demonstrated experience serving in a Lead Developer, Owner’s Representative, Owner’s Manager, Program Management Office (PMO), Project Controls, Engineering, Construction Management, Infrastructure Development, or Capital Projects Delivery role. Strong understanding of the infrastructure project lifecycle, including development, permitting, licensing, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and transition to operations. Proven ability to manage project risks, schedules, budgets, contracts, stakeholders, and executive communications across complex infrastructure programs. Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing client-facing engagements in dynamic project environments. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage senior executives, project sponsors, investors, regulators, and external stakeholders. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, project analytics, reporting platforms, and data visualization tools. Willingness to travel and work in a hybrid client-facing environment.
