Responsibilities We are seeking an exceptional Staff Automation Engineer to design and implement innovative solutions that empower our Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to move faster, build smarter, and deliver more value to our customers. You’ll work at the intersection of SaaS, cloud platforms, and automation—provisioning and managing cloud resources, developing tools for seamless operations, and automating critical infrastructure processes. In this role, y ou will also be responsible to: Lead end-to-end cloud infrastructure automation projects aligned to business

requirements — owning architecture, delivery, and outcomes across the full project lifecycle, to drive operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability in the business. Design challenging, enterprise-grade automation architectures spanning multi-system integrations, event-driven workflows, and infrastructure provisioning pipelines. Architect and implement cloud infrastructure for project incubation, including provisioning cloud accounts, deploying services, automating CI/CD pipelines, and enforcing security best practices. Design and automate infrastructure-related processes to drive operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability. Partner closely with stakeholders across product, security, engineering, operations, and business leadership to translate needs into technical solutions, communicating trade-offs clearly to both technical and executive audiences. Drive cross-functional project execution — anticipate risks early, remove blockers, and keep delivery moving without sacrificing scalability or quality. Design, build and enhance tools for efficient management and monitoring of cloud services and resources. These tools will be used by Product, Marketing, and Field teams to create and maintain connectors, build POCs, and impactful demos. Mentor and elevate peer engineers through design reviews, hands-on coaching, and knowledge transfer on complex cloud infrastructure topics. Set the technical bar for

the team by championing best practices in solution design, documentation, governance, and continuous learning. Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, tools, and Workato features to enhance automation capabilities and infrastructure operations.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills Required: 7+ years of hands-on experience delivering end-to-end automation and cloud infrastructure projects — from

requirements through production deployment. Demonstrated experience managing full project lifecycles: scoping, architecture, stakeholder alignment, delivery, and post-launch iteration. Track record of delivering complex, multi-system integrations in cross-functional environments involving Engineering, Product, and business stakeholders. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) in real production environments, not just prototypes. Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions for cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar), including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and SDLC best practices. Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, and security best practices. Hands-on experience with iPaaS, workflow automation, or low-code/no-code integration platforms; Workato experience strongly preferred. Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills — able to translate technical complexity for both engineering and business audiences. Strong technical documentation skills for solutions, architectures, and operational processes. Ideal: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience mentoring engineers and driving adoption of engineering best practices at team level. Workato platform certification or demonstrated advanced proficiency. Experience with process orchestration tools implementing integration projects involving complex enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and cloud business apps (e.g., Workday, NetSuite, Salesforce). Certifications in major cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.). Background in enterprise architecture and solution design patterns (e.g., SOLID, DRY, KISS). Familiarity with security automation, policy-as-code, and cloud governance frameworks. Experience integrating cloud infrastructure with business systems (e.g., ITSM, CRM, ERP) via APIs and connectors. Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership : Has worked across Engineering, Product, Customer Success, and business teams on real, end-to-end projects — knows how to align stakeholders, navigate competing priorities, and keep delivery moving. Communication : Communicates complex technical concepts clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences — in written docs, design reviews, and stakeholder presentations. Ownership & Initiative : Takes end-to-end accountability for project outcomes — from ambiguous

requirements to delivered solution — without needing direction or hand-holding. Adaptability : Has navigated changing
