About the role
We are looking for a Founding Research Engineer who will own the development of frontier AI models, from task definition, data strategy, architecture design and training, all the way to optimized deployment on physical hardware. We like to ship fast and learn from real-world deployment to iterate quickly. You will work closely with the founders to shape both the technical and company roadmaps.
Ideal Background:
- Experience implementing and training Robot Action Policies (diffusion, flow matching, transformer-based), World Models, Video Generation and/or Vision-Language Models
- Comfortable working with large-scale, multi-modal datasets (vision, language, proprioception)
- Ability to quickly prototype key research ideas, evaluate fit for our applications, and turn them into production-grade systems
- Proficiency in modern ML frameworks like PyTorch and JAX

Sufficiently Advanced is building intelligent robots for the apparel industry. We are tackling one of the hardest problems in manipulation - robust dexterous handling of deformable materials across tasks in messy, real-world environments - and have already piloted the first generation of our robots at customer sites.
