The Role

We're looking for motivated and tech-savvy Business Development Representatives (BDRs) with a strong interest in AI to join our growing sales team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in building a healthy pipeline for our Account Executives by qualifying inbound leads and proactively prospecting into high-value target accounts. This is an opportunity to be at the frontlines of a fast-moving AI company, engaging in thoughtful, technical conversations with a knowledgeable customer base.

The ideal candidate is results driven, exhibits strong intellectual curiosity of the evolving AI space, and can operate in a fast-paced, highly-dynamic start up environment. You should be comfortable initiating outreach, handling nuanced product discussions, and helping prospects understand the impact of generative AI on their business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically prospect into key accounts across email, calling and Linkedin, communicating Fireworks AI’s unique value proposition
  • Consistently meet new business opportunity and pipeline generation targets
  • Craft personalized, tailored outreach through various research methods to prioritize the right accounts and prospects
  • Qualify and engage inbound leads, ensuring a smooth transition to our Account Executive team
  • Act as a brand ambassador, educating prospects on the power and potential of our inference solutions
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to refine messaging and outreach strategies based on market feedback
  • Stay current on AI/ML trends to conduct informed, relevant conversations with technical and business audiences

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated interest in technology sales, with a strong interest AI and machine learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage confidently with technical stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous startup or entrepreneurial experience, with a proactive and adaptable mindset
  • Prior experience in a customer facing role, ideally in SaaS, AI, or emerging tech
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, Apollo, etc.)
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field
  • Active interest in AI/tech communities with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning in the space

Fireworks AI's goal is to provide competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. The estimated range for total on target earnings (including base salary and on target incentive pay) for candidates in the New York City Area for this role is $85,000 - $100,000 per year.
