Comfortable with technology and eager to learn new software tools quickly.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong self-motivation.
Professional demeanor and sound judgment when handling sensitive financial matters.
You are located in Southern California (Orange County preference) and are willing to travel 1-2x a year for company retreats and/or team offsites (usually held in California).
Nice to have

Familiarity with any of our tools: QuickBooks, Stripe, Excel, Google Workspace, Monday.com, HubSpot, PandaDoc.

Support ad hoc finance and operations projects.
Collaborate with our Financial Controller on building out financial processes and systems (including expanding the use of AI in our team).
What we value
Here are some of the concepts that we value as a team and hope resonate for you:
Proactive. When you spot a problem or inefficiency, you bring solutions. Help solve the problems, not create them.
Strong Communicator. You can write clear, professional emails to clients and can have firm but friendly conversations about money. You're comfortable asking for payment while maintaining positive relationships.
Flexible + Adaptable. You're comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities. In a startup environment, responsibilities evolve—and you're excited about that, not frustrated by it.
Eager to Learn. You're hungry to develop new skills and take on challenges outside your comfort zone. You ask questions, seek feedback, and want to grow into a broader finance role over time.
Tech Stack
You'll be working primarily with the following tools:
Accounting: QuickBooks, Excel / Google Sheets
Payment Processing: Stripe
Project Management: Monday.com
CRM & Contracts: PandaDoc, HubSpot
Communication: Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs), Helpscout
Don't worry if you're not familiar with all of these—we'll train you on our systems. What matters most is that you're tech-savvy and can learn new tools quickly.

Intro Call: A ~30 minute call with our Financial Controller to review your background + experience and learn more about the role. If there is a mutual fit, we'll schedule follow-up interviews.
Skills Assessment: A short take-home exercise where you'll work through a realistic AR scenario. This should take about 1 hour.
CFO Interview: A ~1-hour interview with our Co-Founder and CFO that dives into your individual work history and your relationship building skills.
Final Interview with Cofounders: A quick ~30 minute chat with our CEO (Brian) and our CTO (Karan) to give you and our leadership team a chance to ask questions.
If all goes well, the next step is extending an offer 🎉!
‣ About Numero
About Numero
At Numero, we build software for political campaigns and nonprofits. We were founded in 2019 (after our founders met while working together on a Congressional race) with the goal of building a modern fundraising software suite from the ground up – one that users actually want to use. In that time, we’ve scaled our platform to serve thousands of clients ranging from city council seats to US Senate races, and have helped them collectively manage over $10B in contributions.
Our platform is an all-in-one system comprised of a donor CRM, a broadcast email/text tool, and payment processing pages that our clients rely on for their work every day. We’re small, tight-knit team that has deep experience in this space and are backed by world class investors including 776, Y Combinator, and Initialized Capital.
