About the role
We are looking for an AI Forward Deployed Strategist with 1–5 years of experience to own end-to-end customer deployments at CommodityAI — a YC-backed AI startup that's 3x'd ARR in six months and signed Cargill as a customer. You'll be one of the first forward-deployed hires, turning messy real-world commodity trading workflows into production AI systems while helping build the deployment function from the ground up.
What will you be doing?
- Own the full deployment lifecycle — discovery, scoping, configuration, UAT, and go-live — across several concurrent customer onboardings
- Map customer workflows and pain points to CommodityAI's AI agent platform, including data modeling, field mappings, and business rules
- Lead kickoffs, working sessions, and user acceptance testing with stakeholders ranging from warehouse operators to VP/Director-level executives
- Act as the customer's internal PM — surfacing product insights from deployments and feeding structured feedback back to engineering and product
- Build deployment playbooks, templates, and internal tools (using AI-assisted dev tools like Claude Code or Codex) to help future onboardings move faster
Key Requirements
- Genuine daily AI fluency — actively using Claude, Codex, or similar tools for prototyping and automation in your own workflow (not just writing/summarization)
- Strong project management chops — able to run multiple parallel deployments, keep timelines on track, and drive ambiguous problems to concrete outcomes
- Comfortable with structured data and data modeling — CSV/JSON, field mappings, APIs, and basic data models; can troubleshoot workflows without engineering support
- Background in MBB/strategy consulting, biz ops/strategy ops, applied-AI deployment, or implementation/professional services — with demonstrated hands-on execution ownership
- Based in San Francisco (or willing to relocate); able to work in-office 4 days/week and travel up to 30% including internationally
