Description As a Shipping Lead, you are responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations to ensure customer orders are packaged accurately, efficiently, and shipped on time. You lead by example on the floor by setting the standard for quality, organization, and productivity. You coordinate team workflow, resolve issues in real time, and ensure the shipping department operates safely and in alignment with production goals. What you’ll do Lead daily shipping operations to meet production and on-time shipment goals Train, mentor, and support Shipping Technicians to ensure accuracy and efficiency Monitor performance and provide real-time feedback and coaching Partner with production, quality, and operations teams to resolve order discrepancies or delays Verify part counts and perform final quality checks on outgoing orders Determine optimal packaging methods and shipping solutions based on order
requirements Oversee pallet preparation and freight coordination Ensure shipping systems and documentation are completed accurately and on time Drive adherence to LEAN and 5S standards within the shipping area Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements Maintain inventory accuracy for shipping supplies and assist with inventory control Minimum
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English 2+ years of shipping, warehouse, or fulfillment experience Strong understanding of shipping systems and documentation processes Strong attention to detail and quality Strong computer skills and ability to use shipping or inventory systems Ability to use measuring devices and basic hand tools Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment Preferred
Qualifications Experience in packaging products for parcel or freight shipments Familiarity with freight logistics and carrier coordination Familiarity with inventory control processes Forklift or pallet jack experience Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives Physical
Requirements Ability to repeatedly lift 25 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand and walk for 10 to 12 hour shifts Ability to bend, reach, and work around large industrial equipment Work Environment Manufacturing and production floor environment Work performed around CNC lasers, press brakes, and material handling equipment Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal materials Use of required protective equipment at all times Use of skin packing machine Use of custom box making machine
